July 4th Parade And Fireworks Show to Be Held In Washington, GA
Washington, Georgia invites everyone to come there this weekend for their annual July 4th Parade and Fireworks Show.
Washington, GA—Washington, Georgia invites everyone to come there this weekend for their annual July 4th Parade and Fireworks Show.
The Independence Day Fireworks Show will be held Friday night, July 3rd, on the Square in Washington.
The square will close at 5:30 on Friday, July 3rd to prepare for the spectacular fireworks show. Venders will begin setting up at 6:00 pm. Come downtown for a great dinner in one of our fabulous restaurants! Fireworks will begin at dark, around 9:30 p.m.
The Independence Day Parade will be held on Saturday.
The parade participants will meet at 8:00 a.m. at Fort Washington Park, (behind the courthouse), proceed to the Square, then to Liberty Street, then to Jefferson Street, and back to Fort Washington Park.
There will be a short program where there will be a reading of part of the Declaration of Independence, pledge to the flag, and patriotic songs.
Everyone is invited to participate! It is a walking parade with no motorized vehicles.
Walkers, bicycles, strollers, scooters, dogs on leashes are invited to dress and decorate in patriotic colors.
Prizes will be given for the best decorated. Hope you will join us for our 12th Annual parade!!!!
It’s lots of fun and takes place before it gets too hot! Those not able to walk are invited to bring a lawn chair and join in the program.
