Augusta, GA—It’s another no-sale for a downtown Augusta landmark.
The White’s building downtown was up for auction, Tuesday morning, on the steps of the Augusta Municipal Building.
Dozens were there for the sale. In the end, only one person bid, Gurjit Jalli, a Martinez businessowner. His $800,000 offer was rejected, because it did not meet the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC) $1.5 million minimum.
The FDIC was forming a Limited Liability Corporation (LLC) Tuesday, and may now bring in a third party buyer sometime next spring.
