A lot of you heard it, early Friday morning…that big “boom” that rattled houses and woke many people up. Some viewers told us they saw a flash of light around that time, too. A Grovetown woman says her surveillance cameras caught that light, and she’s sharing her pictures with us. WJBF News Channel 6’s Joy Howe spoke with her on Monday. A lot of people think this was a meteor, and now this video could help scientists confirm that. The video shows a flash of light…and it shows something falling from the sky…

Grovetown, GA—Vicki Dudai says she was following our reports on Twitter, and when she heard that the sound and light people witnessed happened shortly before 3:00 a.m., Friday morning, she rewound property surveillance tapes, and was amazed with what she saw.
Vicki Dudai, Grovetown, GA—“...area right here, where the little swirl came down…there it went! There it went!“
Vicki Dudai never heard the sound…but after hearing reports, she believes she’s seeing light from the unidentified “object” that was seen and heard all over the CSRA, Friday morning.
She has 3 surveillance cameras that captured 3 different images from that morning.
Joy Howe, reporting: “You scrolled it back to see that specific time, about right before 3 a.m.?“
Dudai: “About right there, and…when I saw that, I said ‘holy cow.‘“
Here’s what the camera that shows her back porch and pool captured:
The bright areas at the top of the screen are motion floodlights that Vicki said were triggered by the wind, that night…but at 2:52 a.m…the dark area…
Dudai: “There goes the flash of light.“
...Is lit up by something.
Joy Howe: “And there’s no roads around here that it could have been headlights?“
Dudai: “Nope, that is nothing but deep woods.“
And, there’s more:
Dudai: “OK, so we go to camera 2.“
The two other cameras show something falling…this object fell a few seconds before the flash on the deck was seen…the other happened 42 seconds after the flash.
Dudai: “There it is, there it went.“
All this is important to Sonny Clary, a meteorite hunter in Nevada who is packing up his bags ready to head our way and track whatever it is that was seen and heard in the sky:
Sonny Clary, metorite hunter, Nevada Meteorites (phone interview): “We’re just looking for a few more tips to dial us in, then we’ll be out there to find this meteorite, and the biggest thing is, we want to get to it before the weather comes in, and the rain, and the grass grows…people forget about what happened.“
Vicki Dudai is not one of those people…even though she’s not positive what her cameras caught…
Dudai: “It might be dust, it might be pollen, but to me, it came from the meteorite.“
She has something that could shed significant light on what really happened.
Sonny Clary says, right now, he and his team are listening to your tips, and plotting points on a map of this area to try and pinpoint exactly where debris fell.

I never heard anything during the night of the Boom. But in the morning I walked out on my deck which has a South East exposure I found that my umbrella which was securely fastened to the base had come out and was laying on the deck, along with everything that had been on the table. I thought it was strange because we hadn’t had any bad weather or anything. Not to mention it would have had to pulled with great force to get the umbrella out of the base and clear the table. It wasn’t until later in the day that I heard of the Boom. The umbrella was facing the west NW on the deck.
I was awake and heard the “boom”. It actually scared me because it came out of no where and shook the windows in my house. I thought that I may have seen a little flash out of the corner of my eye, but it happened so fast that I couldn’t be sure. The noise also seemed to ‘rumble’ for a moment, making me wonder if a storm was rolling in. I live in Aiken/Kalmia Hills.
