ATLANTA (AP) - Governor Sonny Perdue has given his approval to $331 million in transportation projects.

Perdue announced Tuesday that he has certified a list of county transportation projects under the “1511 Certification” that will be funded through the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act.

Perdue says the projects will bring much needed maintenance to Georgia roads and strengthen the state transportation network.

Projects approved in August and September include several resurfacing projects, work on a pedestrian pathway in Clayton County, adding school sidewalks in Walker County and a $37 million project to widen Route 74 in Fayette County.
