Glascock Consolidated School Closed Friday; Virus Blamed

We have breaking news just into the WJBF News Channel 6 newsroom…We’ve learned that Glascock County Consolidated School will be closed Friday due to a flu bug that’s been going around the school all week.

Glascock County, GA—We have breaking news just into the WJBF News Channel 6 newsroom…

We’ve learned that Glascock County Consolidated School will be closed Friday due to a flu bug that’s been going around the school all week.

School officials tell WJBF they’ve consulted with the Department of Public Health and hope the 4-day weekend will give maintainence workers enough time to clean up the facilities.

Now, it’s important to note that none of these flu cases are confirmed as h1n1, or swine flu, but school officials say local doctors are telling parents that some of them likely are, but have not been confimred.

Glascock County Schools Superintendent Jim Holton tells us that the school’s football game scheduled for Friday at Southwest Atlanta Christian is still on.
