APPLETON, Wis. (AP) - A Wisconsin paper maker will provide the stock used for official invitations to President-elect Barack Obama’s inauguration.
Neenah Paper, based in Alpharetta, Ga., says it will provide Obama’s team with the “greenest premium paper in the world” for invitations to the Jan. 20 event. The invitations will be printed by Precision Continental in Brooklyn, New York.
Neenah Paper says its Classic Crest Recycled 100 Natural White grade paper is made with recycled fiber and renewable energy. It’s made at Neenah Paper’s Whiting mill near Stevens Point.
Kurt Woelffer is the general manager at Xpedx, a Kimberly-based paper merchant. He agrees the paper is environmentally friendly and says the choice sends a strong message about Obama’s green orientation.
