Georgia D.O.T. Launches ‘Teen Driving Safety 101’ Website For Georgia Teens

Atlanta, GA—According to a press release, the Georgia Department of Transportation (GADOT) is launching a new resource for teen drivers and their parents.

The website, ‘Teen Driving Safety 101,‘ is a ‘one-stop’ information portal providing information on driving laws, safety tips and travel information to help teens stay safe behind the wheel.

“Vehicle crashes are the leading cause of death among American teens,” said GADOT Commissioner Vance C. Smith, Jr. “The Department is dedicated to reducing teen crashes in Georgia, and part of that mission involves ensuring that Georgia teens have the information they need to become safe, responsible drivers.“

With school activities, homecoming dances, and football games all on their schedules, it is important that teens and their families be able to get the information they need quickly and easily.

“This website, ‘Teen Driving Safety 101,‘ is designed to provide teens and their parents a ‘one-stop’ site that they can access with just one click,” Smith added.

The website was developed in partnership with the Governor’s Office of Highway Safety, the Georgia Department of Driver Services, and Riverdale High School’s Technology Team. In addition to these partners, the site includes links to other government agencies and sites with information about teen driving laws and general travel information.

The website officially launches October 20 as part of National Teen Driver Safety Week, designated by the United States Congress in 2007 as the third week in October.
