Augusta—A restaurant brings more than 100 jobs to the augusta economy. Cheddar’s is open for business, on Walton Way Extension.
The owners have restaurants in Macon, Warner Robins, Pooler, and Columbus, Georgia, and say they’ve been wanting to break into the Augusta market for awhile.
Even a sluggish economy didn’t turn them off from expanding. Co-owner of C & P Restaurant Company, Allen Peake, says, “We consider this the Cheddars Economic Stimulus plan. We’ve created about 150 new jobs. We’re going to generate over a million in payroll, over half a million in additional tax revenues for local counties, so we’re glad to be here, glad to be a partner with Augusta. I hope folks come out. If they want some great food, they can come to Cheddars.“
Peake is a State Representative in Macon, Georgia. His company also owns twelve Cap’n D’s restaurants, including four in the Augusta area.

Am I missing something. 1.2 million-150 employees. By my math, that’s $153 a week average. just the type of job augusta needs. These must be part time.
