Augusta, GA—According to the Georgia Department of Transportation (GADOT), starting on Monday, and continuing for about 4 months (weather permitting), there will be closures and detours on Walton Way from Dantignac Street to New Balie Street, and the St. Sebastian Way intersection with Osler Lane.

These closures and detours are needed to relocate the water, sewer, gas and all over head utilities. In addition, the reconstruction of the Walton
way/St Sebastian Way intersection will take place during this closure.

Walton Way traffic will detour using 15th Street, Greene Street and 13th Street. Emergency traffic will access University Hospital using New Balie Street, Harper Street, and St. Sebastian Way.

This is a work zone, and extreme caution is necessary. Motorists are advised to reduce speeds, pay attention to all work zone/advisory signs and seek alternate routes when possible. Message signs, barrels and cones will be utilized to alert the public of the upcoming changes.
