Augusta, GA—A new book called ‘The Newcomer’s Guide to Georgia’ is full of tips and information for people new to the Peach State, but it’s also got some things to do and see that even native Georgians might not know about.
Before penning his latest book, former ‘Atlanta Journal and Constitution’ reporter Don O’Briant helped the founder of WJBF News Channel 6, J.B. Fuqua, write his autobiography.
Don O’Briant, author: “I started interviewing him and he took me back to those early days, when he first started the station. He really enjoyed his work. His idea of a good time was reading an annual report.
Report: “A serious businessman?“
O’Briant: “Yes, he was serious.“
And, if you think the author looks familiar…he’s the AJC reporter who had a run-in with convicted Atlanta courthouse shooter, Bryan Nichols. Nichols tried to stuff O’Briant in his trunk, but ended up stealing his car and taking off.
