Augusta’s First Baby Of The New Year Born At Doctors Hospital

Augusta, GA—One local woman celebrated her new bundle of joy on the first day of the new year.

Katrice Broadwater and Victor McIntosh welcomed their baby boy, Kaleb Elizjah Broadwater, into the world Thursday morning at 12:28 a.m.

Kaleb is the first baby born this year in Augusta, at Doctor’s Hospital. Little Kaleb wasn’t due for another 2-weeks.

His great-great-grandmother’s prediction came true…

Katrice Broadwater, Kaleb’s mother: “It’s exciting, I didn’t expect it, so it’s still a surprise to me.“

Charlotte Garrett, Kaleb’s great-great-grandmother: “I said to her, you’ll get a lot of stuff from the hospital, if you have it on the first. Her mother said, ‘I’ll just give her anything she wants as long as she just have it.“

Kaleb came in at 7 pounds and 4 ounces.
