James Hendricks beat those odds, and Friday he was at Georgia Lottery headquarters, on Washington Road, to get his winnings.
Hendricks will get $1,000 a week for life. He bought the winning ticket at Publix Super Market on Furys Ferry Road. And, even though James won the money at just the right time, he was still feeling a little sleepy.
James Hendricks, Appling, GA lottery winner: “Found out, I won last Thursday. I haven’t had a good night’s sleep since. Everyday I get up, I check the ticket to make sure and ahh, you know…I guess it’s real.“
James said he has no real plans for his winnings but he knows he wants to eventually buy a car.
