Last year’s presidential election signaled a dramatic change in American politics. President Obama is the first African-American President in the nation’s history, and from tea parties to town halls, people on both sides of the aisle seem louder than ever, these days. Augusta, GA—A year ago Wednesday night, President Barack Obama greeted supporters in Chicago for the first time as the President-Elect.

Last year’s presidential election signaled a dramatic change in American politics.

President Obama is the first African-American President in the nation’s history, and from tea parties to town halls, people on both sides of the aisle seem louder than ever, these days.

So, are Americans angrier? Are political tensions greater than ever before?

The Ancient Egyptians, Assyrians, Babylonians, Persians, Greek and Roman empires all collapsed and for good reasons.  Their reasons are extremely similar to those that exist in the United States today.  The United States is sliding toward a national debacle; the signs are growing ever more obvious.  It is time all career politicians – the peoples’ representatives – step up and support this United States President.

Our government is more than an absence of anarchy.  It provides, or at least should provide services, to include affordable health care insurance, for its constituents, the politicians profess to serve.  Money spent on foreign aid, the cost to operate 865 U.S. Military bases overseas not counting Afghanistan and Iraq, would pay for education, healthcare and our infrastructure problems.  In the past, we have prided ourselves as being the authority on democracy, freedom, and promoting the general welfare of our people.  However, as the only remaining world super power, we have been setting an extremely poor example for the rest of the world to follow.

How can we lead the rest of the world into the 21st century, when we can’t come to a general consensus to support the president on a basic program which would provide affordable health care insurance for all people.

As a young person growing up I used to believe my fellow Americans were smart and intelligent people who acted with integrity and decorum.  However, based on the recent public demonstrations of anger, outrageous behavior concerning healthcare reform, coupled with disrespecting the President, I have my doubts.  Ironically they are outraged about the wrong things.

Their outrage should be about the 4,330 young U.S. service members killed while supporting combat operations in Iraq or the $580 billion dollars spent for Operation Iraqi Freedom, as well as the billions of dollars spent to operate 865 U.S. Military bases overseas.

Another eye-opener should be foreign automobile trade, for example, Japan imports 6 million cars into the U.S per year and they purchase a meager 1600 cars from the U.S.  .  Korea imports 900,000 cars into the U.S. per year and the U.S. only sold 7,000 cars in Korea.  What a deal for Japan and Korea!  Americans are wondering why GM, Ford and Chrysler are having such a tough time.  The automobile market is flooded with foreign cars.

World War II and the Korean War are over and 50 years later we are still in Germany, Japan and Korea, putting millions and millions of dollars into these economies. It is time we take care of Americas problems first.

Our enemies are forever watchful of our nation.  They are waiting for our constant in-fighting to open a door for them to further assist in destroying our “more perfect union”

It “IS” about all people; the poor, the working class, the middle class and even the rich. It’s time we come together as one nation and rid our selves of fear of others.Fear tolarated is contaminated Faith.
God help America!

America is NOT even remotely close to being a socialist nation right now.  Anyone who uses the word socialist to describe President Obama’s policies has absolutely NO earthly idea of what that word means.

After eight years of destructive policies implemented by Bush, and after six years of conservatives trying to silence opponents of the Bush Admin, I am glad to finally have my country back!
