The American Lung Association estimates most children will catch six to eight colds a year, while adults will suffer through two to four. In a WJBF News Channel 6 Medical Report, Judy Fortin has some prevention tips and advice for getting better.

Doctors agree that common sense measures, such as keeping hands clean and away from the nose, mouth and eyes, is important to stop the spread of a cold or the flu.
Dr. Julian Melamed, asthma and allergy specialist: “Kids should be taught not to (cough into hand) but cough into the sleeve, so you do not spread this through hand contact.“
Kathy Nash is a mother of eight, and a Registered Nurse. Just in case her kids get sick, she’s already got a plan.
