UNDATED—Comcast is launching an online video player.

Subscribers will be able to watch cable TV shows and movies on the web, by the end of the year…

Initially, programming will only be able to be seen at home to subscribers with Comcast internet service.

The company is still working on getting access over competing broadband systems for viewers away from home.

It will be the first pay TV operator to offer the service. The content will be from 24 cable networks, and the service will be free.
