Washingtn, D.C.—Over the next few weeks, Congress will take a look at proposed legislation to regulate cigarettes.

Under the measure, the Food and Drug Administration would have the power to reduce or eliminate cancer-causing chemicals in cigarettes. It would also ban candy-flavored cigars and cigarettes.

The U.S. House passed the legislation last year, but President Bush vetoed the measure.
