LOS ANGELES (AP) - The Los Angeles County coroner’s finding that the death of Michael Jackson was a homicide could mean criminal charges for his doctor, who told investigators that he administered a mix of powerful drugs to treat the pop star’s insomnia hours before his death.
The homicide ruling was based on forensic tests that found the anesthetic propofol combined with at least two sedatives to kill Jackson, a law enforcement official told The Associated Press on Monday, speaking on condition of anonymity because the findings have not been publicly released.
While the finding does not necessarily mean a crime was committed, it means more likely that criminal charges will be filed against Dr. Conrad Murray, the Las Vegas cardiologist who was caring for Jackson when he died June 25 in a rented Los Angeles mansion.
Through his lawyer, Murray has said he administered nothing that “should have” killed Jackson.
Murray told investigators that at the time of the King of Pop’s death, he had been trying to wean Jackson off propofol. The doctor said he’d been treating Jackson for insomnia for about six weeks with 50 milligrams of the drug every night via an intravenous drip, a search warrant affidavit said.
Murray said he feared Jackson was becoming addicted to the anesthetic, which is supposed to be used only in hospitals and other advanced medical settings.
The affidavit unsealed in Houston, where Los Angeles police took materials from one of Murray’s clinics last month as part of their manslaughter investigation, includes a detailed account of what detectives say Murray told them. Manslaughter is homicide without malice or premeditation.
Murray told detectives that he had lowered the propofol dose to 25 milligrams and added the sedatives lorazepam and midazolam two days prior to Jackson’s death, a combination that succeeded in helping the pop star sleep. The next day, Murray said, he cut off the propofol - and Jackson fell asleep with just the two sedatives.
But on June 25, Murray said he tried unsuccessfully to make Jackson sleep with a series of drugs that included a 10-milligram tablet of Valium and repeated injections of two milligrams of lorazepam and two milligrams of midazolam.
When they didn’t work, he gave in to Jackson’s “repeated demands/requests” for propofol, which the singer called his “milk,“ according to the affidavit. Murray administered 25 milligrams of the white-colored liquid - a relatively small dose - and finally, Jackson fell asleep.
Murray remained with the sedated Jackson for about 10 minutes, then left for the bathroom, the affidavit said. Less than two minutes later, Murray returned - and found Jackson had stopped breathing.
Cell phone records show three separate calls from Murray’s phone for between 11:18 a.m. and 12:05 p.m., the affidavit said. It’s not clear who received the calls. Murray had told authorities he was administering CPR during that time.
In a statement posted late Monday on his firm’s Web site, Murray’s attorney Edward Chernoff questioned the timeline as depicted in the affidavit, calling it “police theory.“
“Dr. Murray simply never told investigators that he found Michael Jackson at 11:00 a.m. not breathing,“ Chernoff said. He declined to comment on the homicide ruling, saying, “We will be happy to address the coroner’s report when it is officially released.“
The coroner’s office has withheld its autopsy findings, citing a request from police to wait until their investigation is complete.
It is no surprise that such a combination of medications could kill someone, said Dr. David Zvara, anesthesia chairman at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
“All those drugs act in synergy with each other,“ Zvara said. Adding propofol on top of the other sedatives could have “tipped the balance” by depressing Jackson’s breathing and ultimately stopping his heart.
The 25 milligrams of propofol “is not a whopping amount,“ said Lee Cantrell, director of the San Diego division of the California Poison Control System. It was the cocktail of the other sedatives, known as benzodiazepines, that “may have been the trigger that pushed him over the edge,“ Cantrell said.
“This is horrible polypharmacy,“ he said, referring to the interaction among the various drugs. “No one will treat an insomniac like this.“
The affidavit, signed by a judge July 20, said that the coroner’s office chief medical examiner told police his review of preliminary toxicology results showed “lethal levels of propofol.“
Besides the propofol and two sedatives, the coroner’s toxicology report found other substances in Jackson’s system but they were not believed to have been a factor in the singer’s death, the official told the AP.
Murray didn’t tell paramedics or doctors at the UCLA hospital where Jackson was rushed about any drugs he administered other than lorazepam and flumazenil, a “rescue drug” to counteract problems from too much lorazepam, according to the affidavit.
It was only during a subsequent interview with Los Angeles Police detectives that Murray gave a more full accounting of the events leading up to the 911 call, the document said.
A call to the coroner’s office was not returned Monday. A spokeswoman for the Los Angeles District Attorney’s said no case had been presented so the office had nothing to comment on.
The line between safe and dangerous doses of propofol is thin, and according to the drug’s guidelines a trained professional must always stay bedside. Home use of propofol is virtually unheard of - safe administration requires both a specially trained anesthesiologist and an array of lifesaving equipment. Murray was trained as a heart doctor, not a pain and sedation specialist.
Murray told investigators he didn’t order or buy any propofol, but investigators served a search warrant Aug. 11 at a Las Vegas pharmacy and uncovered evidence showing Murray legally purchased from the store the propofol he gave Jackson on the day he died.
Jackson’s family released a statement Monday, saying it has “full confidence” in the legal process and the efforts of investigators. It concludes: “The family looks forward to the day that justice can be served.“

Michael Jackson’s Doctor Posts Video Thanking Supporters
LOS ANGELES (AP) - Michael Jackson’s personal physician has posted a short video thanking his supporters.
The one-minute video posted Tuesday on YouTube is the first time Dr. Conrad Murray has spoken publicly since Jackson died on June 25. He is being investigated on manslaughter charges.
Representatives for Murray say he has received death threats and has hired a bodyguard. In the video, he says he is afraid to return phone calls or use e-mail.
Murray thanked those who reached out to him with messages of support and said, “I told the truth and I have faith the truth will prevail.“
Murray is at the center of the manslaughter investigation because he was with Jackson the day he died and has acknowledged giving him various medications.

Judge Will Again Consider Michael Jackson Deals
LOS ANGELES (AP) - Official Michael Jackson merchandise could start arriving in stores soon if a judge grants approval to two agreements.
Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Mitchell Beckloff has scheduled a hearing for Monday afternoon on a deal that would begin the flow of official merchandise such as apparel and digital goodies. Another agreement with concert promoter AEG Live could bring a tour of Jackson memorabilia to three unnamed cities.
Approval of the agreements was held up last week after attorneys for Jackson’s mother, Katherine, raised objections. That prompted Beckloff to name an attorney to evaluate the interests of Jackson’s three children.
Katherine Jackson and the children are the main beneficiaries of the King of Pop’s estate.

TMZ.com: Michael Jackson’s Doctor Sued for Eviction
Dr. Arnold Klein—Michael Jackson’s doctor for decades—has been sued for eviction from his Beverly Hills medical offices.
According to the documents, filed August 6 in L.A. County Superior Court, Dr. Klein failed to pay July rent, totaling $28,515.69. The lawsuit alleges the owners of the building gave Klein the first 5 days of August to make good on his rent, but the doc didn’t so the landlord sued for eviction.
But Dr. Klein redeemed himself. The landlord’s lawyer told us Dr. Klein paid the back rent on August 10 and the landlord’s lawyer will dismiss the case this week.
The L.A. County Coroner has requested files from Dr. Klein on Michael Jackson’s treatments at his office.
No word on why the landlord was all business with a long-term client and moved so quickly to file legal papers.
As for Dr. Klein, we left word with his lawyer but so far no comment.

TMZ.com: Michael Jackson’s Deep Freeze
Los Angeles, CA—Michael Jackson has not been buried, multiple family sources tell TMZ.com. We’re told he’s above ground at Forest Lawn Hollywood Hills and is being kept in a freezer.
TMZ.com says Katherine has frequently visited the temporary resting place.
As for where the body is eventually going ... no decision yet. TMZ.com reports Jermaine is the lone family member who wants Neverland as Michael’s final resting place. The rest of the family is appalled by Jermaine’s wish, because M.J. hated Neverland after the molestation trial and wanted nothing to do with it.
Increasingly, Jermaine is becoming estranged from the rest of the Jackson brood.

TMZ.com: Jackson Doctor Didn’t Live at Michael’s Place
Los Angeles, CA—Sources tell TMZ.com Dr. Conrad Murray was not living at Michael Jackson’s home when the singer died.
As we first reported, paramedics found Jackson in Dr. Murray’s room. The doctor had administered Propofol to Jackson while Michael was laid out on the bed.
When EMT workers arrived—and subsequently when police came on scene—there was no evidence that the doctor had been staying in the room. There was no luggage, no clothes of Dr. Murray’s ... no signs he had been staying there.
Authorities believe Dr. Murray generally showed up in the evenings to administer drugs and left during the day. TMZ.com is told the doctor had administered Propofol to Jackson in the room numerous times. Essentially the bedroom became a home clinic for Jackson, with drugs—including Propofol—hidden in the closet area.
As for where Dr. Murray was staying, law enforcement sources say they have evidence he was living in Santa Monica—approximately eight miles from Jackson’s Holmby Hills home. Interestingly, Nicole Alvarez—the woman who bore Dr. Murray’s 7th child—lives in a Santa Monica apartment.

TMZ.com: Stash of Propofol at Michael Jackson’s House
Los Angeles, CA—Michael Jackson’s doctor, Conrad Murray, had a stash of Propofol hidden closet in Jackson’s house, but there are signs Dr. Murray may have either stored Propofol elsewhere or had a steady stream of FedEx deliveries.
Law enforcement sources tell TMZ.com authorities found 3 large bottles of Propofol and 5 smaller vials of the anesthetic in Jackson’s house. The drugs were found in the closet attached to Dr. Murray’s bedroom ... the bedroom where the doctor administered Propofol to Jackson the day he died.
But numerous anesthesiologists tells us ... if the stash was used to keep Jackson asleep through the night, it would require approximately 3 small vials an evening ... so the entire stash would only have lasted about a week.
Law enforcement sources tell us Dr. Murray regularly administered Propofol to keep Jackson asleep for the evening. Our sources say law enforcement believes Dr. Murray was getting shipments of the drug through FedEx and may also have been storing it outside Jackson’s home ... so he could regularly administer the drug.

TMZ.com: Search in Jackson Case—Smoking Gun?
TMZ.com says they have obtained the search warrant used to raid the Las Vegas pharmacy that Dr. Conrad Murray has used in the past, and there appears to be a direct link between the doctor and Propofol ... and there may be a link to Michael Jackson as well.
The documents show authorities were looking for credit card receipts and other docs related to drugs purchased by Dr. Murray on May 12, 2009. The warrant then mentions specific vials of Propofol manufactured by Teva and Hospira, Inc.
TMZ.com has already reported the LAPD found Propofol manufactured by Teva at Jackson’s house.
And authorities were looking for FedEx records relating to “the purchase, transfer, receiving, ordering, delivery and storage of Propofol to Dr. Conrad Murray.“
Short story ... it looks like authorities believe they know where and when the Propofol that killed Jackson was purchased.
It is unclear whether authorities got the smoking gun they were looking for. The only thing revealed in the documents is that authorities took “copies of misc. paperwork.“

Custody Of Michael Jackson’s Children Granted to His Mother
LOS ANGELES (AP) - A hearing on Michael Jackson’s estate has ended with the two men named in the pop icon’s will retaining control of his financial affairs.
Attorneys will reconvene next Monday to decide several issues, including a settlement between the estate and concert promoter AEG Live. Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Mitchell Beckloff says attorney John Branca and music executive John McClain will continue to administer Jackson’s estate until at least Oct. 2.
Beckloff will also consider whether Katherine Jackson can oppose their appointment. Her attorneys want to explore whether the two have any conflicts of interest that should prevent them from administering Jackson’s estate, of which she and the singer’s three children are primary beneficiaries.

***2:00 a.m. Update August 3***
Houston, TX—TMZ.com reports they’ve learned Dr. Conrad Murray has a storage unit in Las Vegas—and there seems to be a growing connection between the doctor’s storage rentals in Vegas and Houston.
Dr. Murray has a 10x20 unit at a Public Storage facility in Las Vegas. We’ve learned an employee of Dr. Murray’s came to the unit as recently as July 30 with Dr. Murray’s credit card number on a piece of paper and paid the rental fee. We do not know if items were removed or stored at that time. Dr. Murray missed the July 15 deadline to make payment and he was charged a late fee.
TMZ.com is told one of the four people authorized on Dr. Murray’s behalf to come and go at the facility is Stacey Howe—someone who figured prominently when Dr. Murray’s Houston storage unit was raided last month. Federal agents seized correspondence addressed to Stacey Howe, and we’re told the agents asked the manager of the storage facility if she knew of Howe.
When agents raided Dr. Murray’s Houston medical practice, they seized two Yahoo e-mails from Stacey Howe.
TMZ.com says they’ve learned Howe works at a Las Vegas hospital in the radiology department, doing filing work.
Law enforcement believes Dr. Murray may have had Propofol—the drug they believe killed Michael Jackson—stored in the various storage units for shipment to the singer, though as far as we know they do not have proof ... at least not yet.
TMZ.com does not know if the Vegas storage unit has been searched pursuant to a warrant.

TMZ.com: Michael Jackson Spent Last Hours in Doctor’s Bed
Los Angeles, CA—The reports that Michael Jackson spent the last night in his bedroom are not true, according to TMZ.com, which says they’ve learned Jackson spent his last hours in Dr. Conrad Murray’s bedroom…in Dr. Murray’s bed.
Multiple law enforcement sources tell TMZ.com Jackson did not want people going in and out of his room, so he used Dr. Murray’s bedroom for his IV Propofol. We’re told Dr. Murray administered the Propofol to Jackson hours before he died, while the singer lay in Murray’s bed.
Law enforcement believes Dr. Murray may have been using his room almost nightly to administer Propofol to Jackson. Emergency workers found an IV stand, an empty IV bag and oxygen tanks in Dr. Murray’s room. And as we first reported, the Monday after Jackson died, cops found a stash of Propofol and other drugs hidden in a closet connected to Dr. Murray’s room.
TMZ.com has already reported Dr. Murray left the room at some point when Jackson was receiving an IV drip of Propofol and may have fallen asleep. Cops believe by the time he awakened Jackson’s heart may have already stopped beating.
TMZ.com is told Dr. Murray was not in Jackson’s house during the day. He would show up in the evening and leave in the morning. Law enforcement believes the doctor may have regularly gone to Jackson’s home at night to administer Propofol so the singer could sleep.
Law enforcement believes Dr. Murray could have discovered Jackson sometime around 9 AM the day of his death. One theory cops are working under ... after discovering Jackson either in distress or dead, Dr. Murray called two employees at his medical office in Houston and told them to go to his storage unit and remove certain boxes. Both women told TMZ Dr. Murray did not call them but cops are dubious. The stories of the two women conflict—one says a box of dirty needles was retrieved; the other says she went to retrieve a chair.
As for what may have been in the boxes, law enforcement is investigating whether Dr. Murray had Propofol delivered to his Houston medical office ... possibly put in his storage unit ... and then FedEx’d to Los Angeles as needed.
Dr. Murray rented the storage unit April 1 and the staff went back on 4 different occasions before Jackson’s death.
TMZ.com reports, when the DEA raided Dr. Murray’s Houston medical office, they seized a rolodex card with FedEx information.

TMZ.com: L.A. City Attorney Probes AEG
Los Angeles, CA—TMZ.com reports the L.A. City Attorney is investigating AEG for allegedly making promises to people who paid thousands of dollars to attend the Michael Jackson memorial…but not delivering on its promise to donate the money to the LA Police Foundation.
Sources in the City Attorney’s office tell TMZ.com complaints have been lodged by people who bought suites for the July 7th memorial at the Staples Center. People who paid $5,000 for a suite claim AEG promised the money would be donated to the LA Police Foundation but AEG delivered a cent.
A rep for AEG told TMZ.com there were 18 suites that went for $5,000 a pop and AEG did indeed promise the money would be donated to the Police Foundation. The rep said AEG is still doing a final accounting of the event and “We have every intention of making this donation.“
AEG says the city is trying to get way too much, 7 figures, out of them for the event. But the City Attorney believes AEG is on the hook for expenses including sanitation, transportation, street services and LAPD protection, and that does indeed go into the 7 figures.

TMZ.com Dr. Murray’s Employees Tell Different Stories
Houston, TX—The two women who allegedly went to Dr. Conrad Murray’s Houston storage unit and removed boxes just hours before Michael Jackson was pronounced dead are telling inconsistent stories about what was taken from the storage facility.
TMZ.com reports they spoke with LaQuisha Middleton and her sister, LaQuanda Price, both of whom worked for Dr. Murray at the time. LaQuisha is the office manager. LaQuanda was laid off within the last month.
The manager of the storage facility tells us the two sisters came to Dr. Murray’s unit at 9:22 AM, Los Angeles time, the day Jackson died and picked up 3-5 boxes, in addition to other items they carried out by hand. The manager says she personally spoke with both sisters at the facility.
But Wednesday, outside Dr. Murray’s Houston office, LaQuanda told TMZ.com she stayed in the office the day Jackson died and did not go to the storage facility. She says her sister went and retrieved one bio-hazardous box, filled with used needles. She says Dr. Murray did not call and direct either of them to go to the storage facility. As for why they would pick up a box of used needles and take it back to the office, LaQuanda says they were just moving things around in the office.
LaQuisha told a totally different story. She says the only thing she picked up was a chair. She also says Dr. Murray did not direct her to go to the facility. As for why she went, she said “I always go.“
They also don’t believe Dr. Murray administered a fatal dose of Propofol to Jackson.

TMZ.com: Dr. Murray Tells Cops “I Gave Jackson Propofol”
Los Angeles, CA—TMZ.com has said, since July 15, police believe Dr. Conrad Murray administered Propofol to Michael Jackson—the drug that killed him. There’s a reason police believe it. Dr. Murray told them.
Two days after Jackson’s death, Dr. Murray told LAPD detectives he administered Propofol to the singer hours before he died ... this, according to multiple law enforcement sources.
TMZ.com says Dr. Murray gave Jackson an IV drip of the powerful anesthesia. Police believe Dr. Murray simply wasn’t paying attention when the singer’s heart stopped beating.
Authorities believe Dr. Murray may have actually fallen asleep during the time the drug was administered and may have awakened to find Jackson already dead from heart failure.
An IV drip of Propofol allows a constant, steady infusion of the drug for a period of time determined by the person administering it.
It is considered reckless in the medical community for a doctor to administer an IV drip of Propofol without the patient being monitored by an EKG, which sounds an alarm when the patient’s pulse drops too low. No EKG was found in the house.
Another device—known as a pulse oximeter—is used to determine the oxygen saturation in the patient’s blood. If the patient’s breathing slows to a dangerous level, an alarm alerts the treating physician. Again, no oximeter was found in the house.

TMZ.com: Hidden Drug Stash Found In Jackson’s House
Los Angeles, CA—Law enforcement sources tell TMZ.com Dr. Conrad Murray kept a stash of drugs—including the powerful anesthesia Propofol—hidden in his closet at Michael Jackson’s home.

Dr. Murray talked to the LAPD the following Saturday and the information he supplied triggered another, broader search warrant. Cops returned to the house the following Monday and discovered “various drugs” secretly stashed in a closet in the guest room where Dr. Murray was staying.
Here’s the amazing thing ...law enforcement sources say Dr. Murray himself told LAPD detectives about the closet when he was interviewed the Saturday after Jackson’s death.

Los Angeles, CA—TMZ.com reports says Law enforcement sources tell them the L.A. County Coroner is scheduled to release the autopsy results in Michael Jackson’s death next week, and the cause of death will “almost certainly” be homicide—death at the hands of another.
TMZ.com reports says the Coroner himself will make the call mid-week, after he gets the final toxicology report from an outside consultant. But based on the draft report as well as what has become “clear evidence,“ causes other than homicide—natural, accidental, accidental overdose, and suicide—have been ruled out.
TMZ.com reports has already reported that for weeks, the LAPD has treated Jackson’s death as a homicide. They have served multiple criminal search warrants—most recently at Dr. Conrad Murray’s Houston medical office. Dr. Murray is actively being investigated as the person who may have administered the powerful anesthesia Propofol to Jackson the day he died.

TMZ.com: Jackson Aliases—The Plot Thickens

TMZ.com says, as they reported, Jackson used a variety of aliases to score drugs, including Omar Arnold, Michael Armstrong, Jack London and Peter Midani. TMZ.com says Jackson particularly favored the name Omar Arnold.
Here’s how crazy it got: The L.A. County Coroner’s office took Jackson’s medical records from Dr. Arnold Klein last week. Law enforcement sources tell TMZ.com, Klein used the name Omar Arnold on some of the files. TMZ.com says they are told inside those files, the doctor refers to Jackson by his real name.
In several cases where Dr. Klein treated Jackson under the name Omar Arnold, TMZ.com says he sent the singer to the Spalding Pain Medical Clinic in Beverly Hills, where he performed procedures on Jackson, who was given general anesthesia. But the files at Spalding referred to Jackson by an alias other than Omar Arnold. TMZ.com sources say the doctor who runs the surgery center made it easy on the Coroner and voluntarily handed over the files in question.
Bottom line—it’s not that easy to track Jackson’s treatment because of the phony names.

Anesthesiologist’s Records Taken by Coroner
Los Angeles, CA—TMZ.com has learned the L.A. County Coroner paid a visit to a Beverly Hills surgery center this week, and took Michael Jackson’s medical records…and there’s a Dr. Arnold Klein connection.
Sources say Assistant Chief Coroner Ed Winter went to see Dr. Randy Rosen, an anesthesiologist at the Spalding Pain Medical Clinic in Bev Hills. Sources say the coroner’s office became interested in the clinic, which is also a high-end outpatient surgery center, after Winter went to the medical office of Dr. Arnold Klein last week and obtained Jackson’s medical records.
TMZ.com was told a review of Dr. Klein’s records led the coroner to the Spalding Pain Medical Clinic, which was founded and run by Dr. Rosen. We’re told the coroner was interested in procedures Klein performed at the clinic several years ago, with the help of two anesthesiologists. Dr. Rosen was not involved in the procedures, but ran the facility at the time and voluntarily turned over medical records to the coroner.
And how’s this, TMZ.com says, as they first reported, Debbie Rowe delivered Michael Jackson’s second child, Paris, at the Spalding Pain Medical Clinic in 1998.

Settlement Near in Jackson Custody Case
Los Angeles, CA—As for what they’re discussing, TMZ.com’s sources say the custody of the children, not money, is the issue on the table, but that it looks pretty clear Katherine Jackson will end up with custody, assuming the judge goes along. As for what Debbie Rowe wants…we’re told she too is interested in making sure the children are okay.
TMZ.com’s told Rowe is still collecting money from an agreement she and Michael struck several years ago, around the time of the child molestation trial. That agreement was drafted so it will survive Michael’s death.
As for additional money, TMZ.com’s told Rowe is not requesting that. In fact, TMZ.com’s sources say lawyers for Jackson’s estate have not even been consulted about the discussions between lawyers for Katherine and Debbie. If there were any issue of additional monies, the estate lawyers would have been consulted.

Five perfect takes went smoothly, Jackson descending down the stairs, with a blaze of pyrotechnics behind him. But, during the the 6th take, things go terribly wrong. The fireworks go off too soon, igniting Jackson’s hair.
Nearly ten seconds pass before Jackson, who keeps on performing, realizes his head is engulfed in flames.

Joe Jackson Says Michael Jackson Died Due To “Foul Play”
Los Angeles, CA—The Jackson family is raising the volume on its charge that Michael’s death was no accident.
Joe Jackson, Michael Jackson’s father: “I do believe it was foul play. I do believe that. Yes.“
In an exclusive interview with ABC News, Michael Jackson’s father specifically points a finger at Dr. Conrad Murray, Michael’s Jackson’s personal physician, who was with him at the time of his death.
Joe Jackson: “They must have had…given ‘em somethin’ to make him rest. You know? And, I’m hearin’ that this doctor went to sleep or somethin’. I don’t know. I mean, I guess Michael passed, on that situation. But, Michael probably been dead a long time before they started taking him to the hospital. And, you don’t revive a person in a soft bed. You know? Then he…the doctor left when they…and they couldn’t find him in three days or somethin’? That’s what made me believe somethin’s wrong. Yeah.“
Murray, who’s reportedly a subject of the LAPD’s ongoing investigation, declined to comment specifically on Jackson’s claim. But, a spokesperson for Murray’s attorney told ABC News that “Dr. Murray continues to be fully cooperative with the Los Angeles Police Department and the Medical Examiner’ s office.“
Meanwhile, Michael’s sister, La Toya, went even further than her father, this weekend, telling the ‘Daily Mail’ that Michael “was surrounded by a bad circle of people who didn’t have his best interest at heart…manipulative people who effectively murdered Michael with addictive drugs to control his mood.“ She says, “they were interested in Michael, the ‘cash cow.‘“
As the family waits for results from the various toxicology tests on Jackson’s body, ABC News has learned they were trying desperately to help Michael with his addiction, as recently as one week before he died, planning an intervention to try to stop his ongoing drug use.

Authorities Closing in On Michael Jackson Doctor
Los Angeles, CA—Law enforcement sources tell TMZ.com the central target in both the coroner and LAPD investigations into Michael Jackson’s death is Dr. Conrad Murray, who was at Jackson’s house when the singer went into full cardiac arrest.
Sources say the doctor is not cooperating with authorities, but they have still found evidence linking him to the drug that may have killed Jackson. As TMZ.com first reported, as a result of Dr. Murray’s second interview with police two weeks ago today, the LAPD obtained a warrant to conduct a second search of Jackson’s home—and that’s when they found Propofol, a powerful anesthesia that should never be used outside a hospital. There is evidence Propofol was administered to Jackson shortly before his heart stopped beating.
And TMZ.com is told there is evidence Dr. Murray may have administered the drug. Dr. Murray’s lawyer, Ed Chernoff, told TMZ he would neither confirm nor deny if Dr. Murray administered Propofol to Jackson. Law enforcement sources tell us if they conclude the doctor administered the drug it may well lead to manslaughter charges.
Investigators are also suspicious of the delay in calling 911—the Dr. says he waited 20 - 30 minutes because he didn’t know Jackson’s address that would lead paramedics to the house. Jackson lived on one of the most famous streets in the world—one house above Sunset Blvd.
As the investigation into Jackson’s death heats up, there’s also an investigation into his life with drugs and the doctor’s who fueled it. Sources tell TMZ.com law enforcement is seriously investigating the prescription practices of several doctors who gave Jackson access to medications. Investigators are particularly interested in doctors who used aliases to write scripts for Jackson. One of the central figures in the investigation—Dr. Arnold Klein.
TMZ.com broke the story yesterday how members of Jackson’s staff complained that Klein was using the names of employees and others to help Jackson score drugs. One of the names allegedly used—Frank Tyson, a former Jackson employee. Several powerful meds in Tyson’s name were prescribed by Dr. Klein and found at the Neverland Ranch during the 2003 search.

Jackson Docs Not Cooperating, Coroner Claims
Los Angeles, CA—Law enforcement sources tell TMZ.com two doctors who treated Michael Jackson have not been forthcoming with their medical records.
Sources say Dr. Arnold Klein and Dr. Conrad Murray have not turned over the medical records the L.A. County Coroner’s office has requested. We’re told both doctors have turned over some records, but the coroner’s office has not gotten the complete file from either doctor.
And there’s this ... TMZ.com has learned a driver for Michael Jackson told coroner’s officials shortly after Jackson’s death that the singer was going to Dr. Klein’s office multiple times a week in the months preceding his death and sometimes would spend 3 to 4 hours inside.
The driver told coroner’s officials Jackson appeared disoriented when he left Klein’s office. This is consistent with what a bodyguard told Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s deputies in 2004 ... when Jackson left the offices of Klein and other doctors.

Jackson Doctor Offers ‘Potent Narcotic’ Solution
Los Angeles, CA—One of Michael Jackson’s doctors wanted Michael Jackson to trade his dependence on Demerol for another “potent narcotic.“
Dr. Alex Farshchian wrote Michael Jackson a letter, dated July 21, 2002, in which he writes, “Buprinex (sic) is the potent narcotic I told you about last week. It is just like the D but better.“ Buprenex is an injectable narcotic painkiller.
During a search of Neverland, Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s deputies seized a scribbled note, which may have been written by Jackson and found around his drug stash, that says “Buprenex does the same as demerol, the only difference is you can’t become an addict on Buprenex.“ The note refers to Buprenex as “synthetic demeroll (sic).“ It goes on: “2 viles, I would feel safe having it in case of axident (sic).“
Research shows if Buprenex is taken for long periods of time or at high doses, it can become addictive.
The doctor refers in his letter to a “5-7 day program that offers you the solution.“ The doctor does not explain the program.

Reader Reactions
New documents have uncovered the dire situation of Michael Jackson’s severe drug addiction. The rumors surrounding the death of Michael Jackson have been legion and will be for some time, and the newest is that Xanax pills may have played a part. Xanax pills are typically prescribed by a physician as a treatment for anxiety disorders. Some Xanax side effects include dry mouth, euphoria, constipation, suicidal ideation (thinking about suicide), and also aggression, rage, mania and agitation. (These are also side effects of watching America’s Next Top Model, especially the last four.) Withdrawal from the drug can cause tachycardia, or rapid heart beat – a chief cause of heart attacks. It isn’t confirmed that Xanax pills had a hand in Michael Jackson’s death, but many would get cheap payday loans to find out.
