Thomson High School Teacher Named McDuffie County Teacher of the Year

A Thomson High School teacher is named McDuffie County Teacher of the Year. Kathy Neal is an 8 year teaching veteran.

Thomson, GA—Mrs. Kathy Neal, of Thomson, has been named McDuffie County Teacher of the Year.

Neal is in her eighth year as a teacher. She teaches 10th grade Chemistry and 11th grade College Prep Physical Science at Thomson High School.

Through the years, she’s taught sixth through 12th grades. At the Teacher of the Year banquet, a former 6th grade student of hers introduced her.

Neal didn’t enter the teaching profession until she was 50-years old, working first as a pharmacist for 25 years. Kathy Neal will now compete for Georgia Teacher of the Year honors.
