Waynesboro, GA—An accused killer will be brought back to Burke County to face charges of murdering a 16-year-old boy, two years ago.
Stanley Howard will be brought back to Burke County on Saturday. He is accused of killing 16-year-old Damian Wright, in Waynesboro, back in August of 2007.
Howard was picked up by Atlanta police.
Waynesboro Police Chief Karl Allen says he’s glad Howard’s in custody.
Chief Karl Edward Allen, Waynesboro Police Department: “His name is entered into the system. And it was two years ago. He’s wanted for the crime of murder in the city of Waynesboro, and if a law enforcement agency stopped him for a traffic violation, or if he applies for a drivers license, or what have you, and they run his name through a nationwide computer database, and if it comes up wanted here for murder, and they held him there for us. We feel good about that. Very good about that.
According to Waynesboro Police, Howard is being interviewed by the GBI Friday.
