UPDATE: Stolen ATM Found In Woods

The ATM stolen by way of a forklift, early Wednesday morning, has been recovered. Investigators received the call around 6:00 p.m. WJBF News Channel 6’s Barclay Bishop has more.

Augusta, Ga—Around 3:00 a.m. Wednesday morning, a couple of thieves used a forklift from a construction site at the First Baptist Church of Augusta, and stole an ATM.

It happened at the Georgia Bank and Trust on Wheeler Road.

Around 6:00 p.m., investigators received a call from a woman who was hiking and found the ATM. It was recovered, along with a stolen pickup truck, behind a gated area on Skinner Mill Road.

Officials say the money was stolen from inside the ATM.

If you have any information on the whereabouts of the suspects, call your local sheriff’s office. As for the money, bank officials say it is all insured and there will be no added costs to their customers.
