Two Men Arrested For Aiken County Murder

According to Capt. Troy Elwell, the Aiken County Sheriff’s Office has arrested Matthew Lamar Jackson Jr., 22, of the 2200 block of Windsor Road, in Springfield, SC and Tyrone Akeem Gleaton, 18, of the 100 block of Holly Street, in Wagener, SC.

Aiken county, SC—According to Capt. Troy Elwell, the Aiken County Sheriff’s Office has arrested Matthew Lamar Jackson Jr., 22, of the 2200 block of Windsor Road, in Springfield, SC and Tyrone Akeem Gleaton, 18, of the 100 block of Holly Street, in Wagener, SC.

Both individuals will be charged with Murder and Unlawful Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Crime. They are charged in the murder of 19-year-old Marques James Tyler.

Sheriff Michael Hunt, Aiken County Sheriff’s Office: “This is the result of dedication and determination by the investigators involved in this 7-month-long investigation to bring closure to the victim and his family.“

The two are currently being held at the Aiken County Detention Center.
