Reids Grocery Store Robbery Suspect Arrested, Two Others Sought

According to Capt. Troy Elwell, the Aiken County Sheriff’s Office (ACSO) is investigating a late night armed robbery at the Reid’s Grocery store located on Highway 1, in Langley, SC. The robbery occurred just after 11:00 p.m., Thursday night.

Aiken, SC—According to Capt. Troy Elwell, the Aiken County Sheriff’s Office (ACSO) is investigating a late night armed robbery at the Reid’s Grocery store located on Highway 1, in Langley, SC.

At 11:00 p.m., Thursday night, an employee who was trying to close the store noticed a black male walk in, according to the employee the individual was pacing and appeared to be nervous. The employee asked if he could help the individual. He then pulled a black in color semi automatic handgun and demanded money from the safe. The suspect was given an undisclosed amount of money and fled the scene in a black Mitsubishi Galant.

Deputies in route to the scene spotted the vehicle and conducted a traffic stop. Two suspect then fled on foot and one was arrested at the vehicle. The Aiken Bloodhound Tracking Team responded and tracked to a near by dumpster where all of the money was found, along with clothing that belonged to the suspects.

Frankie Adams, Jr., 28, of the 100 block of Hudson Road, in Aiken, has been charged with Armed Robbery. The identity of the other two individuals that fled the scene is still under investigation.
