North Augusta Mom Who Tried To Kill Kids Denied Bond

A North Augusta mother, accused of trying to kill herself and her two children…was denied bond. Melissa Sawyers, 29, is charged with attempting to administer poison with the intent to kill.

North Augusta, SC—A North Augusta mother, accused of trying to kill herself and her two children…was denied bond.

Melissa Sawyers, 29, is charged with attempting to administer poison with the intent to kill.

North Augusta Department of Public Safety officers say Sawyers ran a garden hose from the tail pipe of her car into her vehicle. Sawyers, her 7-year-old son and 11-year-old daughter were inside.

She drove to a friend’s house, where the children were let out of the car unharmed.

Sawyers will be held at the Aiken County Dentention Center until she goes before an Aiken County judge in General Sessions Court.
