(Augusta) - Richmond County investigators are not ruling out robbery in the murder of an Augusta man shot while riding his bicycle in the Harrisburg neighborhood.

Investigators canvassed the neighborhood in Tuesday afternoon hoping to flush out leads in the murder of 21-year-old Daniel Deyond McGee.

Authorities were looking for anyone who saw or heard anything that would give them some clues as to who shot McGee. Authorities say McGee rode his bicycle to the 15th Street Kroger Tuesday morning to buy soft drinks for his disabled Uncle who lives at Bon-Air Apartments.

Neighbors tell WJBF News Channel 6 the area has gotten a lot worse, in the last year. Many were too afraid to talk to us on camera.

Tuesday morning investigators searched the area looking for clues in the shooting. They say after McGee was shot he managed to ride his bicycle about a quarter mile down the road where he collapsed.

The Richmond County Sheriff’s Office is offering a cash reward for information leading to an arrest in this shooting death.
