Man Arrested In Greenville Shooting Death

A Piedmont man has been arrested and charged with shooting and killing a man in Greenville. Greenville County sheriff’s Lt. Shea Smith says Horace Anthony Thompson was shot several times following a fight Saturday.

GREENVILLE, S.C. (AP) - A Piedmont man has been arrested and charged with shooting and killing a man in Greenville.

Greenville County sheriff’s Lt. Shea Smith says Horace Anthony Thompson was shot several times following a fight Saturday.

The Greenville News reported Monday that 48-year-old Barry Reynolds Styles was charged with murder and possession of a gun during a violent crime.

Lt. David Griffin says the shooting occurred outside a garage about 6 p.m. Saturday. Deputies have not released a motive in the shooting.

They say Styles was arrested shortly after the shooting. He was being held in the Greenville County jail, awaiting a bond hearing. It was unclear Monday whether he had an attorney.
