Former Aiken County Teacher Arrested for Criminal Sexual Conduct With A Minor

According to Sgt. Dave Myers, the Aiken County Sheriff’s Office (ACSO) has arrested a former Aiken County middle school teacher concerning Lewd Act and Criminal Sexual Conduct with a minor. Joseph Jay Magni, Jr., 28, of the 400 block of Cannon Knoll Road, in Lexington, South Carolina is charged with Criminal Sexual Conduct with a Minor (5 counts), and Lewd Act (5 counts). Magni formerly taught at Leavelle McCampbell Middle School.

Aiken, S.C., November 2, 2009—According to Sgt. Dave Myers, the Aiken County Sheriff’s Office (ACSO) has arrested a former Aiken County middle school teacher concerning Lewd Act and Criminal Sexual Conduct with a minor.

Joseph Jay Magni, Jr., 28, of the 400 block of Cannon Knoll Road, in Lexington, South Carolina is charged with Criminal Sexual Conduct with a Minor (5 counts), and Lewd Act (5 counts).

ACSO Juvenile Investigators discovered, between the months of May 2009 and June of 2009, that Magni did commit criminal sexual conduct and lewd act on a minor, a 14-year-old female victim, while at the Aiken Mall Cinemas, located in Aiken, S.C.

In addition, Juvenile Investigators also discovered that Magni, a former Aiken County middle school teacher, did between the months of May 2009 and June 2009 commit a lewd act and criminal Sexual conduct on a minor, a 14-year-old female victim, while at his work place, Leavelle McCampbell Middle School, located in Graniteville, South Carolina.

Joseph Jay Magni, Jr. is being held in the Aiken County Detention Center.
