UPDATED: Suspect Arrested For Hitting Emanuel County Deputy With Truck
An Emanuel County Sheriff’s Office deputy is undergoing surgery at the Medical College of Georgia. Deputy Daniel Moxley was seriously injured Wednesday night during a traffic stop in Swainsboro. UPDATE: Patrick Kersey was arrested in Toombs County Thursday, just before noon. The GBI is investigating the case.

Swainsboro, GA—An Emanuel County Sheriff’s Office deputy is undergoing surgery at the Medical College of Georgia. Deputy Daniel Moxley was seriously injured Wednesday night during a traffic stop in Swainsboro.
According to Sheriff J. Tyson Stephens, Deputy Moxley pulled over a suspected drunk driver on South Main Street, in Swainsboro, around 10:00 p.m., Wednesday night. The Sheriff says the deputy was about to place Patrick Kersey under arrest, when the suspect took off in his truck, striking the deputy.
Warrants are now pending against Kersey. He was last seen driving a dark green Ford F-150 with a Sachwabe Motors drive out tag.

That guy has a lot of guts or rather alcohol on his mind to hit that Deputy officer. Maybe he is so very afraid to get arrested that is why he escaped from the deputy officer.
