Augusta, GA - Authorities in Richmond County are investigating a deadly shooting.
It happened after Narcotics officers shot at a suspect who was trying to get away. This took place Tuesday night on Ohio Avenue, just off Wrightsboro Road.
Officers were called out trying to serve warrants on two different people at the same time. Sheriff Ronnie Strength says one of the men they tried to serve a warrant on jumped in a car and hit reverse, coming toward an officer. The sheriff says several shots were fired at the suspect, who was able to get 200 yards down the street before he jumped out of the car and collapsed.
He was taken to the Medical College of Georgia and later died at the hospital.
