UPDATED: Deadly Shooting In Aiken Ruled A Homicide

According to Lt. David Turno, investigators from the Aiken Department of Public Safety are looking for any information about a deadly shooting that occurred around 8:10 p.m. Tuesday evening. UPDATE: According to Aiken County Coroner Tim Carlton, the victim of a shooting in Aiken, has been identified as 30-year-old Donald M. McCalla, Jr. of Princess Lane, in Aiken.

According to Aiken County Coroner Tim Carlton, the victim of a shooting in Aiken, has been identified as 30-year-old Donald M. McCalla, Jr. of Princess Lane, in Aiken. McCalla was the victim of a shooting at 411 Abbeville Street NW at approximately 8 p.m. Tuesday night. An autopsy in Newberry, SC Wednesday afternoon revealed McCalla died from multiple gunshot wounds to the upper and lower parts of his body. The manner of death in this case is homicide. McCalla’s death is being investigated by the Aiken Department of Public Safety and the Aiken County Coroner’s Office.

Aiken, SC - According to Lt. David Turno, investigators from the Aiken Department of Public Safety are looking for any information about a deadly shooting that occurred around 8:10 p.m. Tuesday evening.

Officers were dispatched to the 400 block of Abbeville Avenue, in Aiken, in reference to citizens hearing gunfire. A short time later, officers were dispatched to the Aiken Regional Medical Centers E.R., where a gunshot victim had been taken.

Investigators are interviewing witnesses at this time. The name of the murdered victim has not yet been released.
