UPDATED: Columbia County Armed Robbery Suspect Arrested
According to Captain Steve Morris, a suspect wanted in connection to an armed robbery at Walgreens on Washington Road, Wednesday morning, has been arrested in Sumter, South Carolina.
Columbia County, GA—According to Captain Steve Morris, the Columbia County Sheriff’s Office needs help from the public in identifying an armed robbery suspect.
Around 5:00 a.m., Wednesday morning, a suspect entered the Walgreens located at the corner of Washington Road and Bobby Jones Expressway, cut his wrists, and then approached a pharmacy employee demanding oxycontin.
The suspect was armed with a handgun and he was last seen running south near Bobby Jones Expressway.
The suspect has now been identified as Nathan James Key, 29. He is known to drive a 1998 Geo Prizm, which is white with black trim with front and rear end damage, with SC tag number BFW 788.
UPDATE: Nathan Key was taken into custody Thursday morning by authorities in Sumter, SC. Key was receiving medical treatment at a Sumter medical facility at the time of his arrest. Key will be transferred to the Aiken County Detention Center, later Thursday.
