Carjacking Suspect Sought In Augusta

The Richmond County Sheriff’s Office is looking for a man who carjacked a woman in Augusta, on August 11th, on the 1300 block of Merry Street, around 1:19 a.m. The suspect is identified as 26-year-old Nathaniel Robert Thomas.

Augusta, GA—The Richmond County Sheriff’s Office is looking for a man who carjacked a woman in Augusta, on August 11th, on the 1300 block of Merry Street, around 1:19 a.m.

Investigators say a black male approached a woman as she was exiting her vehicle (2000 blue Chevrolet Impala) in the driveway of her residence, located on the 1300 Block of Merry Street. The suspect then produced a handgun and demanded the keys to the vehicle and the victim’s cell phone. The suspect then attempted to get the female back into her vehicle but she refused. The suspect then fled the scene in the victim’s vehicle.

During the investigation, a suspect was identified as being 26-year-old Nathaniel Robert Thomas, and the following warrants were issued for Thomas’ arrest:

Armed Robbery, Hijacking of a Motor Vehicle, Possession of a Firearm during a Crime, and Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon.

Anyone having contact with Thomas is asked to contact the Richmond County Sheriff’s Office at (706) 821-1080 or (706) 821-1020. A reward is being offered for information leading to Thomas’ arrest.
