Augusta, GA—The search for a missing murder suspect is over.

Authorities say 40-year-old Terrance Riley returned to the Medical College of Georgia hospital around 2:00 a.m., Tuesday morning.  He was spotted by a South Carolina police officer who was in the ER at the time.

Richmond County Sheriff’s Office was notified, who then notified the Aiken County Sheriff’s Office.

You may remember, Riley walked away from MCG, sometime Sunday afternoon, where he was being treated for several gunshot wounds.

Due to the HIPPA law…investigators tell us they were not informed about the incident until the victim’s family called the Aiken County Sheriff’s Office.

Riley is one of four men alledgely connected to the death of an Aiken County man. Investigators say they are waiting on the hospital to see if Riley is healthy enough to be taken to jail. No word on whether he will be arrested until released from the hospital if he is taken back into their care.

Aiken County Sheriff’s Office Captain Troy Elwell tells us Riley will now be guarded at all times.
