Bank Robbery Suspect Sought In Augusta

Augusta, GA—According to Lt. Scott Peebles, the Richmond County Sheriff’s Office is looking for a bank robbery suspect.

Investigators say, at about 12:30 p.m., on Friday, a suspect entered the Wachovia Bank, located at 3535 Wheeler Road, and attempted to rob it at gunpoint. The suspect fled the bank with an undisclosed amount of money, but dropped the money when a dye pack activated in the parking lot.

The suspect is described as a black male, in his mid to late 40’s, bald, with a graying low cut beard, approximately 6’2” tall, medium build (190-210 pounds), with a medium complexion.

The suspect was last seen wearing black sunglasses with oval lenses, a two-tone baseball cap with a dark bill and lighter colored top, red and green subdued plaid long sleeve shirt, and a grey crewneck t-shirt underneath.

The suspect was last seen getting into the driver’s seat of a 90’s model tan or gold Chevrolet Suburban, with 20 to 22 inch rims with dagger style designs. The suspect may have red stains on his skin from the dye pack.
