Columbia, SC—With nine days to go before Santa makes his Christmas deliveries, it looked like just about everyone else was at a local Post Office to make sure their deliveries make it before Christmas, too. Monday, December 15th, was the busiest mailing day of the year. Wednesday the 17th will be the busiest delivery day.

Harry Spratlin, spokesman for the U.S. Postal Service in South Carolina, says important deadlines you need to know about are coming up. “Tomorrow, the 16th, will be the final deadline for parcel post for Christmas delivery. And then on the 18th is the deadline for Express Mail military service. And then on the 20th is the deadline for Priority Mail and for First Class letters and cards, Christmas cards. And then the final deadline falls next week, and that’s the 23rd, and that will be the deadline for domestic Express Mail,“ he says.

You can avoid going to the Post Office altogether by visiting its website. You can use a credit card to pay for postage, print it yourself and then notify your local carrier to pick up a package from your home.

You can also save money by comparing package delivery services at a free website, called Ship Gooder, click here.
