Well, like a nasty cold, the symptoms seem to have have broken. I’m seeing $3.69 in a lot of places. It’s still higher than I’d like to pay but at least I’m able to buy gas when I need it.
Smash
I found out this morning, October 1, that the TPS truck stop on Peach Orchard Road has gas for $3.74 a gallon. It didn’t look like there were very many vehicles there so I’m not sure how much they have.
The Fort Gordon gas stations are having as difficult a time as the civilian stations. I noticed the address on a recent fuel truck, it said Maryland. Are we trucking our fuel from Maryland just to have some to sell?
The Gate 5 gas station has been out of gas for most of the time since Hurricane Ike. The gate One gas station gets a meager supply of gas and tends to run out by afternoon. So yes! The AAFES gas stations and military drivers are having it bad too.
Just curious because I haven’t seen any comments about this on any news reports or comment threads… How about the AAFES gas stations on Fort Gordon? Are they having the same issues with keeping their tanks stocked for customers to get gas like the ‘civilian’ stations? If not… Why not?
As of 2:30 PM today, Sept. 29, 2008, the Shell station (Circle K) on Peach Orchard Road had regular gas at $3.79 a gallon. Must also watch to not overfill. When I filled up there earlier the pump did not turn off itself. Also, my card got stuck and I had to pull hard on it to get it out.
As of 5:09am Monday 09/29 the Sprint at 2202 Gordon Hwy at the corner of Barton Chapel and Gordon Hwy had Regular gas at 3.93 and Premium gas available but I didn’t ask how much the Premium price was. Hope this helps everyone!!
Randy Keys article / list and the consumer comments are two days old. Any similar current list and this one would be purely coincidence.
Sunday morning 9/28: Gas at Sprint on Washington RD near Baston RD (3.999), BP/Kangaroo on Washington RD near Pleasant Home RD (3.819), and ENMARK on Bobby Jones across from Lowe’s (3.799). The pumps at ENMARK are very slow and night clerk said need maintnence, but have been running 24hrs last few days—took 10 min to pump 3 gal.
The Sprint on Mike Padgett Hwy across from the drivers place had only regular, the Sprint on Peach Orchard Rd,the BP on Peach Orchard and also the Exxon on Peach Orchard all had gas as of right know anyways and the lines aren’t that long. The BP was 3.81 the rest are 3.99.
