UNDATED—In a WJBF-TV News Channel 6 Medical Report, doctors are warning about the dangers of mixing smoking and surgery.

We’ve heard the stories about the difficulty of quitting smoking, but some doctors say more plastic surgery patients have a new reason.

Many plastic surgeons won’t operate unless a patient quits. The nicotine in cigarettes cause blood vessels to spasm, and in surgery this can cause infections that lead to permanent scaring.
