The tabloids say this pic is from a University of South Carolina party. Phelps has admitted to the photo, with an apology, but with millions of endorsements from cereals, cars, and swimwear, some are saying he might have to pay up.
Peter Land, former sports marketing executive: “The sponsors will definitely be checking the fine print. Some of them might have morals clauses that identify this as a breach.“
As of now, the photo won’t apply to his swimming accomplishments because the anti-drug rules apply for athletes who test positive during the competitions.
