NEW YORK (AP) - Matthew Reeve plans to run the New York City Marathon to raise funds for his father’s foundation, which helps people with spinal cord injuries.

New York Road Runners said Monday that Reeve will make his marathon debut Nov. 1. He’ll be part of Team Reeve, one of 75 official ING New York City Marathon charities. The money raised will go to the Christopher and Dana Reeve Foundation.

He’ll wear bib No. 1275, indicating the 1.275 million people with spinal cord injuries. In March, Reeve attended the White House signing of the Christopher and Dana Reeve Paralysis Act.

Matthew Reeve is a 29-year-old filmmaker. He was 15 when his movie-star father broke his neck during an equestrian competition in 1995.
