UNDATED—Backstreet’s back and they’re coming back in force!

WJBF News Channel 6 has obtained exclusive news from Backstreet Boys member Brian Littrell that the band will be debuting the first single from their upcoming album at the end of July. The single, ‘Soldier Down’, has a Euro dance vibe and was produce by Red One, the man behind Lady Ga Ga’s hit ‘Pokerface’.

The group’s seventh album will hit stores in October, with a world tour starting in November.

It has been sixteen years since the Backstreet Boys entered the music scene, redefining pop music. The quintet, comprised of Brian Littrell, Nick Carter, Howie Dorough, AJ McLean, and Kevin Richardson, were known for their seemless harmonies and soulful ballads.

Just as their fans have grown, so have the members of the group. In 2006, Kevin Richardson left the group to pursue other passions, but the door still remains open for him to rejoin the group, if he wishes.

In total, the Backstreet Boys have sold nearly 100 million records worldwide.

I can’t wait for the new album.  I really loved the last two albums with a pop rock vibe—but I’m ready to hear them singing pop R&B like they did when they first came out!
