NEW YORK - Another legal issue for Lil Wayne - this time over copyright issues. A Florida man is suing the rapper and Birdman along with Cash Money Records. Thomas Marasciullo says he was asked by Cash Money to lay down some of what the suit calls “Italian-styled” spoken word recordings in 2006. The man claims the tracks ended up without permission on Lil Wayne’s track “Respect” and other tracks from a project Wayne and Birdman recorded together and one Birdman did separately. The suit seeks unspecified damages for the alleged copyright infringement. A lawyer and representatives for Cash Money and Universal Music Group which helps distribute and market the label, didn’t immediately return messages seeking comment on Friday.
