LOS ANGELES (AP) - A hearing on Michael Jackson’s estate has ended with the two men named in the pop icon’s will retaining control of his financial affairs.
Attorneys will reconvene next Monday to decide several issues, including a settlement between the estate and concert promoter AEG Live. Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Mitchell Beckloff says attorney John Branca and music executive John McClain will continue to administer Jackson’s estate until at least Oct. 2.
Beckloff will also consider whether Katherine Jackson can oppose their appointment. Her attorneys want to explore whether the two have any conflicts of interest that should prevent them from administering Jackson’s estate, of which she and the singer’s three children are primary beneficiaries.
