LOS ANGELES (AP) - A blogger accused of leaking songs from the long-delayed Guns N’ Roses album has pleaded not guilty to violating federal copyright laws.
Kevin Cogill appeared yesterday morning in federal court in Los Angeles and entered the plea in the case. Federal authorities say Cogill posted nine Guns N’ Roses songs from the “Chinese Democracy” project on his Web site in June.
The album has been 10 years in the making. The songs have since been removed.
If convicted, Cogill faces up to three years in prison. And it’s possible he could get more time if prosecutors prove the 27-year-old did it for financial gain.
