HENDERSONVILLE, Tenn. (AP) - Picture this: Gospel music legend Bill Gaither climbing onstage at a county fair to join the Oak Ridge Boys singing “Elvira.“
It’s one of the few non-gospel songs on a new Oak Ridge Boys DVD titled “A Gospel Journey.“
The DVD is hosted by Bill Gaither and was filmed at various sites around his home town of Alexandria, Indiana, including his farm and the county fair in a city park.
The Oak Ridge Boys’ deep-voiced Richard Sterban says that while the quartet has enjoyed a successful country music career, their roots are in gospel music.
