FAYETTEVILLE, N.Y. (AP) - Barenaked Ladies singer Steven Page has avoided jail time in his cocaine possession case.

Page was arrested in July while visiting his girlfriend and her roommate outside Syracuse, New York.

Page was originally charged with a felony that could have gotten him up to 15 years in prison. The felony charge was reduced to a misdemeanor and Page was given an adjournment in contemplation of dismissal.

That means he must stay out of trouble for six months and get treatment. The girlfriend and the roommate got the same deal. Page says he’s “grateful” for
opportunity to prove himself “as a productive and law-abiding member of society.“
