The Backstreet Boys are reintroducing themselves with the release of their seventh studio album “This Is Us”.
The group recently celebrated sixteen years together, and, although one member has left, the remaining four are continuing to go strong. The last two years were spent traveling the world with their last album “Unbreakable” that was released in October 2007.
With “This Is Us” the quartet returns to the r&b vibe and harmonies that made them famous. They also brought in the talent of several top industry producers and musicians including RedOne (known for hits with Lady Gaga), Ne-Yo, T-Pain, Pitbull, and Ryan Tedder (frontman of OneRepublic and songwriter/producer).
Backstreet’s promotional appearances in support of today’s CD release have been put on hold, however. After arriving in New York from promotional events in Tokyo, Brian Littrell was diagnosed with H1N1 (swine flu). The other three members of the group and the entire crew tested negative, but they have been given preventative medications.
In the meantime, Littrell is being quarantined to his room and public and television appearances have been cancelled. There is no word right now when the group will be able to return to their schedule, but they are going to try to reschedule the appearances.
Yesterday, in a YouTube video, an obviously ill Littrell expressed his apologies to all this is affecting.
Backstreet Boys “This Is Us” is in stores now.
