Augusta, GA—Some of Augusta’s Wounded Warriors got to go see KISS, in Atlanta, on Monday night, but for those who couldn’t, KISS came to see them.
Wednesday, some of the band members stopped by the uptown Augusta V.A. Medical Center, on Wrightsboro Road.
Paul Stanley, Eric Singer, and Tommy Thayer took photos, signed autographs, and just said ‘thank you’ to veterans who were injured overseas. It was a big day for those veterans, but Stanley says, it’s also a big day for the band.
Paul Stanley, lead singer, KISS: “People talk about the ultimate sacrifice being, God forbid, you lose your life overseas protecting this great country. But, there are people who come back with broken spirits, broken bodies. And, what’s the difference if you come back and you don’t have your life. So, if we can come here and acknowledge all these great heroes. These are the people who make our lives possible.“
Veteran: “I think it’s fantastic, man. And, more bands ought to do it…let the military know you appreciate it.“
Veteran: “This was the greatest thing that anybody could have done for us. It lets us know that the Americans care about what we’re doing, what we’re going through.“
Tommy Thayer, guitarist, KISS: “People have to realize that this is so important, and that’s why we’re here…to show our support and our love for everybody that’s doin’ what you’re doin’...appreciate it.“

I think that was awesome of Paul, Eric and Tommy to come to Augusta and speak for such a great cause. KISS is not only an unbelievable entertaining band , they are also caring and compassionate for good causes. I say ROCK ON to KISS and our troops and may God Bless Everyone!!
