Augusta, GA—According to Columbia County (GA) EMA Director, Pam Tucker, the National Weather Service has changed storm damage assessment in Harlem and Grovetown. They will start in Aiken County where fatalities have been reported.

After Columbia County, they will move on to Richmond and Burke Counties.

We called the Aiken County Sheriff’s Office and they would not confirm or deny any fatalities, at this time. Micahel New with Aiken County EMA confirms two deaths in Aiken County. He says a truck fell on a truck in New Ellenton, killing the driver. He also says a car flipped on Highway 78 near Windsor, SC on a slippery road during the height of the storm. One person was killed in that accident. New also says there have been several injuries in the Beech Island area.

We will provide more information as it becomes available.
