Ridge Spring, Aiken County, SC—Brittany Reed got some unexpected visitors at her house, early Friday morning.

Brittany Reed, Ridge Spring, SC: “I was sleeping in my bed. I get a knock on my door. It’s my boyfriend’s brother and he’s shot up…he had three more people with him.“

Reed says three people dragged the body of 40-year-old Terrance Riley into her living room. She called 911. Shortly after that, police cars swarmed her house.

Reed: “I’m scared, I don’t know what’s going on, and then come to find out, there was a robbery down the road, they’d killed somebody, and I’m just all freaked out.“

Investigators say four people: riley, his son, 17-year-old Islam Dunn, 22 year-old Datron McFadden a 15-year-old boy came into this house and shot and killed Jerry Tyler.

Investigators say they think it was a drug-related robbery, but so far, haven’t found any evidence of drugs or money being taken.

Capt. Troy Elwell, Aiken County Sheriff’s Office: “We know that the suspects were acquainted with the victim. But, we are unsure what the relationship was. It’s not a random act; they didn’t just go kick in someone’s door for no reason. They knew the victim.“

During the incident, Riley was shot three times. He’s in critical condition. Investigators say his own son might have been the shooter.

Joy Howe, reporting: “Was it an accident?“

Capt. Elwell: “At this point, we believe it was an accident. We don’t believe it was intentional, however, that being said, if Mr. Riley dies, the other three may still be charged with murder-two counts.“

Investigators say the four suspects left Tyler’s house and went to Brittany Reed’s. Her boyfriend is Riley’s brother.

Reed: It was pointless because they didn’t get any money, drugs. None of that. Nothing. It was just a shooting and leaving.”

Reed says it’s the victim’s family she feels for…she tells us she just learned it’s Tyler’s daughter’s birthday.

Reed: “Every year she’s going to have a birthday, and she can’t really celebrate it because her Daddy got killed on her birthday. So, it’s going to be hard, for the whole family, especially for a little girl like that.“

Investigators say they found four guns that they believe belong to all four suspects.

Three of them, we’re told, were found behind Brittany Reed’s house. The investigation is still open.
