Word about the two patients being in Augusta, has been spreading very fast all day. Today WJBF News Channel 6 got reaction from some of the fans outside of the Joseph Still Burn Center. Saturday, fans gathered outside of Doctors Hospital, in a state of shock. Hoping to get any information they could on Blink 182’s former drummer Travis Barker and celebrity DJ AM’s condition.
Brandon Arand, Blink 182 fan: “I was really hoping that he didn’t die but he said he’s doing ok.”
Joseph Morales, Blink 182 fan: “I heard it this morning at work. I saw it, I was upset. I called everyone, I told them to watch it telling them what’s going on and hopefully he does alright”
Joseph Morales says he’s been a fan of Blink 182 for years, and has 4 tattoos to prove it.
Barker and his band split more than 3 years ago.
Now fans are already keeping their heads held high, hoping a tragedy like this can create…what they call a miracle, to bring them back together.
Mike Gulinm, Blink 182 fan: “They’ve just been our favorite band since we were like kids so this is like very tragic for us. Just hoping he’s alright cause we’ve always talked about how I hope they have a reunion at some point. So I hope he’s doing alright and he gets well and hopefully this will bring them all together and maybe we can see a reunion”
While recovery efforts continue inside these doors, these fans say they’re support efforts will continue outside.
Mike Gulinm, Blink 182 fan: “Get well Travis, Mark, Tom, you guys are the greatest band ever and hopefully this will bring you guys together and we’ll see a reunion show hopefully in the future.
A press conference will be held Sunday morning.
