Augusta, GA—Augusta Commissioner Betty Beard says she will not run for re-election.
Beard says, after six years on the board, she wants to focus on other opportunities and give someone else the chance.
Beard took over the seat in UJanuary of 2004, after her husband Lee’s death.
She says she’ll endorse former Augusta Coliseum Authority member William Fennoy in this fall’s election.
